Who is a real leader?

I’ve been thinking about leadership lately. Sometimes, I forget that by virtue of what I do, and really who I am, that I am a leader. I’m created to lead. I feel compelled to lead. But I don’t always live that way. Sometimes I live like a follower. Its like I’m waiting for someone to lead me, to tell me or direct me on what I should do next. But as I’ve been thinking about leadership lately, I’ve been reminded that I am a leader. Thats my calling. And with it as my calling, I can trust that if I lead, someone will follow.

Still I wonder, is everyone a leader? Are we all called to be a leader? Are you a leader? Who is following you? John Maxwell made a profound statement when he said, He who leads, but no one follows, is simply just taking a walk.

I have discovered on my journey in leadership that many people are in the position of leader but that does not make them a leader.

Not everyone can lead and that’s okay.

If you are called to be a leader then lead, and do all you can to be the best you can whenever you can.
